Military Ball!

Something I didn't mention in my last journal post... I got invited to the Military Ball! I actually got asked by two guys, but the first one was a player, and he had five girls on his list that he wanted to ask... and I don't appreciate feeling like a thirty cent piece of candy in a storefront window, you know? But the guy that asked me next (that I said yes to) is one of my newer buddies, Keith. He'd just moved here from Florida (I think), and I've only known him for about a month now.

Of course, guys tended to be procrastinators in my school... and Keith is no exception. XD He asked me on the 15th of February, and the Ball is scheduled for the 7th of March, which mean there's only a small window of time to find and purchase a gown, shoes, clutch, and jewelry. Especially since my mother and I had to agree on all the above. AHH! And since there's really no time, I cannot send it off to get tailored to fit... which means it has to fit off the rack. This is difficult, since I'm a perfect four... but I'm short. XD

BUT I FOUND A GOWN! XD And it's a good price, too! It's lime green with hints of yellow and shot through with blue, and it has some interesting embroidery on the bust and in sprinkles down the skirt. The skirt is poofy (Ma's orders), with seven layers of skirting! It's strapless, and I hope it stays that way. It's also a one-of-a-kind dress... in every aspect of the word. It was a factory promo that never made it through to production, so I own the only one of that in the world.

Yes, my expression is yeech, but the gown shows up most clearly in that photo. I also took a close-up of the detail on the bust: [link]

The detail is gold, silver, blue, purple, green, orange, yellow... almost every colour!

What do you guys think of it? If anyone actually watches me, that is...

Also, I got my braces tightened and separators for anchors put in the day before yesterday. One word. OW.
